China to open electric bus assembling plant in Thailand

BANGKOK, July 8 (TNA) - The Shenzhen Wuzhonglong Motors Group, one of China's largest car manufacturers, has expressed its interest in setting up an electric bus assembling plant in Thailand. The visiting Shenzhen Wuzhonglong Motors Group Vice President expressed the interest while meeting with Thai Industry Minister Atchaka Sibunruang in Bangkok on July 7. On the occasion, the visiting Shenzhen Wuzhonglong Motors Group executive was also briefed on Thailand's energy conservation policy for domestic mass transit systems and project on promoting the use of energy-saving public transport services. The Chinese firm reportedly plans to open an electric bus assembling factory in Thailand with its production capacity of 10,000 units annually for both domestic sales and exports. The minister then suggested that the Chinese firm use at least 60 per cent of made-in-Thailand assembling parts for its production. The Shenzhen Wuzhonglong Motors Group is China's first manufacturer of electric buses with its yearly production capacity of 30,000 units currently for exporting to 50 economies worldwide. (TNA)
