China's Zoolian International Trading Eyes Share Of Malaysian Market

From Ali Imran Mohd Noordin CHANGSHA (HUNAN, CHINA), Oct 18 (Bernama) -- Zoomlion International Trading Co Ltd, a Chinese heavy industry market leader, is eyeing a share of the construction and equipment rental business in Malaysia. It also wants to develop its service response team in the country. Deputy General Manager Geoffrey Tao said Malaysia was also important in the context of the company's Southeast Asian market with certain countries experiencing rapid development in infrastructure. "We have projects related to road building for ports among others. "All these are very important to us. They are also part of our strategic arrangement to employ more local service partners compared to previously," he told the international media at the company's headquarters here. He said there was growth in demand for equipment rental services, thus, creating a new window of opportunity for the company. "For example, in rental solutions, you have to guarantee that if something goes wrong at different working sites, you can offer a service response in 24 or 48 hours. "On our part, we are looking at local partnerships. We have to speed up this strategy or lose our market," Tao added. Meanwhile, 3D printing machine manufacturer, Hunan Farsoon High-Tech Co Ltd (Farsoon Technologies), described Malaysia as "unique" for its location in Southeast Asia. "We have the option to make Malaysia a regional base due to its central location. The large Chinese population in Malaysia also makes it easier for us to work in respect of language. "In Southeast Asia, Malaysia has shown to have great future potential. There are a lot of industries moving into the region. It is a good point for us to go in now," said Don Xu, the company’s Global Business Group Director. Having entered the Malaysian market earlier this year, he said the company is now focusing on approaching higher learning institutions and automotive industries in the country. Meanwhile, the five-day media visit has the spotlight on the "Intelligent Manufacturing Industry" in Hunan province. It is being hosted by the Foreign Affairs Office of the Hunan Province People's Government and is part of a "Go Global" strategy. As of August this year, companies from the province had invested in 86 countries. They have also entered into 470 areas of international cooperation since the first overseas initiative started in 2000. --BERNAMA
