Commerce Ministry Launches Saturday National Day Trade Festival

Doha, December 14 (QNA) - Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced the launch of the first edition of the National Day Trade Festival on Saturday, as part of Qatar's National Day celebrations. The first edition of the National Day Trade Festival will be held in cooperation with the National Tourism Council, with the participation of 14 commercial complexes and over 600 retail, hospitality, leisure, education, clinics, medical centers, beauty centers, service companies, and others. Through this huge and first of its kind festival to celebrate the National Day, which will be held from December 15 to 20, the Ministry offers an opportunity for the owners of shops, retail workers and all private sector companies and institutions operating in various fields throughout the country to join the citizens and the residents their celebrations of the National Day through offering unprecedented discounts. Private companies and institutions participating in the festival include all sectors of trade and services such as commercial and consumer complexes, restaurants, shops, beauty salons, hospitality, hotels, sports clubs, health and beauty services, institutes and leisure services. The facades of the shops and companies participating in the National Day Trade Festival will be marked with a logo sticker designed specifically for the festival and distributed to participants free of charge. This initiative comes within the framework of the Ministry's keenness to organize events that embody the meanings of the celebration and pride of the National Day and contribute to the consolidation of the values of loyalty and belonging to the homeland and its wise leadership. The Ministry has sought to activate the commercial movement in the country's markets by providing the shops with the opportunity to offer outstanding promotions and enable citizens and residents to benefit from the discounts during this period. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the National Tourism Council through the festival aim to support the private sector and promote demand in the retail sector. The festival actively promotes trade in the local market, supports the country's economy, stimulates domestic and foreign tourism and creates an environment conducive to the growth of the commercial sector. Companies wishing to participate in the National Day Trade Festival can register by visiting the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (Quantitative Licensing and Market Control Department) and attach an official letter and a copy of the commercial registration and commercial license.
