Construction of MRT extended route set to be completed before Aug 2017

BANGKOK, January 11 (TNA) - The Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA), the operator and management of the underground train system in Greater Bangkok, is to complete the construction of an extension between Tao Poon and Bang Sue Stations in the capital before August 2017 in order to serve passengers in a subway transport connectivity between the Purple and the Blue Lines. Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha told journalists on January 10 that he has ordered MRTA executives to complete the construction of the extended route as soon as possible. For the construction of two other subway extended routes in the Blue Lines, linking Hua Lampong with Bang Kae and Bang Sue and Tha Phra, the prime minister noted that negotiations are underway among concerned parties, with public interest taken into account.
