Construction Summit To Address Key Issues Related To The Industry

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 10 (Bernama) -- The 4th Malaysian Construction Summit (MCS) 2012 to be held here on Feb 16, will help provide feedback to government agencies in exploring practical solutions towards addressing key and critical issues pertaining to the construction industry. Organised by the Master Builders Association Malaysia (MBAM), the summit will also suggest improvement ideas with regards to infrastructure investment and Public-Private Partnership (PPP) implementation to ensure the success of the 10th Malaysia Plan and Economic Transformation Programme. In a statement on Friday, MBAM president Kwan Foh Kwai, said the summit themed, "Infrastructure Investment through Public-Private Partnership", would be held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC). "With the Malaysian economy on firmer footing, the enhancement of partnerships between the public and private sectors, is an element that needs to be fostered in ensuring sustainable economic growth. "The summit will also provide opportunities to identify critical issues impacting the construction industry to help ensure sustainable growth through proper development of strategies involving both the government and private sectors," he added. Delegates from China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean)countries will attend the summit. Kwan also expressed the hope that the summit will be able to forge new business contacts and linkages through interaction and networking among delegates and as a whole promote, closer rapport and collaboration among industry players in the construction fraternity. The keynote address at the summit will be delivered by Shaziman Abu Mansor, the Malaysia Minister of Works. He will also officiate the event. Meanwhile, the MBAM Open House 2012 will also be held on Feb 16 from 7pm-9.30pm at the Impiana Hotel KLCC. --BERNAMA
