Corporations, SMEs Need To Tap Into Incentives For Green Technology

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 22 (Bernama) -- Corporations, as well as small and medium enterprises (SMEs) need to tap into incentives for green technology adoption, Acting Malaysian Deputy Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister SK Devamany said. He said the industries need to consider green technology adoption in line with global migration towards green technology. "Local companies must follow the flow. Within the country, the Incentivisation schemes in place will look at green as an important element," he told reporters at the sneak preview on the seventh International Greentech and Eco Products Exhibition and Conference Malaysia (IGEM 2016) here Thursday. He said companies looking for incentives must abide by the framework which was being formulated. Organised by the Energy, Green Technology and Water Ministry, IGEM 2016 from Oct 5-8 will feature 400 booths. It is expected to attract trade participants and visitors from over 30 countries and is targeted to generate US$364.70 million (RM1.5 billion) in business leads. --BERNAMA
