DPM:Thai economy keeps growing with stable commodity prices

BANGKOK, July 13 (TNA) - Thailand’s general economy has kept growing with stable commodity prices and there is, therefore, not necessary for the government to issue any special economic measure for the time being. Speaking during the weekly TV and radio programme of Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra on Saturday, Deputy Prime Minister and Commerce Minister Niwattumrong Boonsongpaisan said that he inspected goods prices on the domestic market earlier this week and found that part of the prices remained unchanged and part of them even fell due to seasonal changes. Regarding Thai exports, Niwattumrong acknowledged that the prime minister had held a meeting with agriculture and food industry operators on ways to boost their exports and such the meeting will be continued on a weekly basis with next week's meeting to be conducted with operators of electronic and information technology (IT) industries. According to the deputy prime minister, the Thai government has timely completed six out of nine protocols on free trade agreements (FTAs) with fellow members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) so far.
