Dry-processing cement plant commissioned in Eastern Gobi

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolia’s first dry process technology cement plant has been commissioned in Dornogovi aimag and opened August 14. The Plant is capable of producing one million tonnes per year. It has been built in frames of the Moncement project, implemented on the USD 250 million funding by the Monpolymet Group, the Development Bank of Mongolia and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The opening ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Ch.Saikhanbileg, Governor of Dornogovi aimag P.Gankhuyag, the Vice Minister of Construction and Urban Development G.Baigalimaa, J.Batsuuri MP, Governor of Sainshand soum B.Batbayar, and Governor of Orgon soum B.Batjargal. The plant is creating more than 500 jobs and is contributing to the localities’ budget. It is also of great importance in developing auxiliary facilities and small and medium enterprises in the locality and increasing income of the locals. The authorities say that, thanks to the project implementation, developments such as 1,000 family apartments, supermarkets and sports complex are going to be built and will help Orgon soum to expand three times its current size.
