DXC Technology Expects 3-4 Pct Revenue Growth For Asian Business

By Sharifah Pirdaus Syed Ali CYBERJAYA, April 16 (Bernama) -- World leading end-to-end information technology (IT) services company, DXC Technology expects a three to four per cent growth in revenue in its Asian business this year. DXC Asia vice-president and general manager Koushik Radhakrishnan said the group has US$1.3 billion worth of business in Asia, involving four big markets, namely Southeast Asia, Japan, China and India. He said DXC Technology offers cloud platform services, applications services, enterprise applications, cyber security and risk management, industry solutions such as insurance, transport healthcare and finance as well as business process solutions, among others. Despite being a global company, Koushik said DXC is very local in the way it operates, with centres in the Philippines, Vietnam, China, Singapore and Hong Kong. Speaking to Bernama after the launch of Next Generation Security Operations Centre (SOC) here Tuesday, he said Malaysia is a strategic long-term investment for the group. “The Malaysian centre has three main specialisations - cloud infrastructure service provider; insurance and healthcare products development; and cyber security and risk management,” said Koushik. DXC has about 4,000 employees in Malaysia, 80 per cent of whom are locals, supporting its various services for local and global clients. Koushik said the group would have more business announcements for its Malaysian site soon, not only for locals but also for DXC’s global businesses. Meanwhile, on the new SOC in Malaysia, DXC Asia’s Offering leader and Analytics and Security general manager, Abdallah Zabian said Malaysia’s younger population, language and skills set were factors which attracted the group to invest in Malaysia. “What I found here, which is different from the other places, is the ability and the desire to learn and improve. “As Malaysia is very diverse, it enables people to move quickly and try different things. The way the country works, really works for us as cyber professionals,” he said. DXC’s cyber security business in Asia is growing at 42 per cent this year, and the Malaysia SOC is also expected to double its capabilities this year from over 300 employees last year, said Abdallah. He added that the Malaysia SOC is currently engaged with the insurance, banking, oil and gas, media, entertainment as well as retail industries. Abdallah said the SOC would help to strengthen and enhance overall security of enterprises by integrating advanced security analytics across information technology and operational technology to provide better visibility, correlation and response to security threats and vulnerabilities. The multidisciplinary teams of highly skilled security professionals at the Malaysia SOC specialise in services such as identity and access management, data loss prevention, security device management, digital forensics, threat intelligence, threat monitoring and incident response, he added. —BERNAMA
