Ecuadorean President receives Chairman of DP World

Quito: Ecuador's President, Rafael Correa, yesterday received at the Presidential Palace in Quito, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman of DP World and his accompanying delegation. During the meeting, the parties discussed trade, economic and investment relations between the UAE and Ecuador, in addition to a number of common issues of concern. The Dubai Ports delegation included Mohammed Sharaf, Group Chief Executive Officer of DP World, and the meeting was attended by a number of government officials in Ecuador, including the Ecuadorean Minister of Transport and Public Works, Maria de los Angeles Duarte, Secretary for Legal Affairs of the Presidency of the Republic, Alexis Mera, Minister of Foreign Trade of Ecuador, Francisco Rivadeneira and Marco Albuja, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Political Integration of Ecuador. The Chairman of DP World stressed the importance of holding such meetings between the two sides to enhance cooperation between them, highlighting the fact that Ecuador enjoys excellent economic growth potential, and expressing the hope that the visit will work to strengthen the existing close relations between the UAE and Ecuador. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
