Energy-saving labels promoted for building owners
BANGKOK, May 9 (TNA) -- The Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency (DEDE) is expanding its project to promote energy-saving buildings by offering energy-saving labels to the owners of such buildings to attract customers including users, tenants and buyers.
DEDE Director-General Praphon Wongtharua said his department issued such labels to 17 buildings in the past two years and planned to give the certification to 50 more buildings this year to promote energy-saving.
“DEDE will invite building owners in the private and the government sectors, targeting office buildings, hotels and shopping centres in greater Bangkok where there are more new buildings and a large number of old ones,” he said.
The buildings that already received DEDE’s energy-saving labels include the Operations Center of Thai Airways International, Energy Complex, the headquarters of Kasikorn Bank and the Stock Exchange of Thailand. (TNA)
