Euro 5 Benzene Production To Start In Tabriz Refinery Early Next Year

Tabriz, July 3, IRNA – Managing Director of Tabriz Refinery Esma’eil Aqapour-Qadiminezhad said here Monday plan for producing Euro 5 standard benzene would bear product in late January, 2012. Announcing the news, Aqapour-Qadiminezhad added, “The project for producing this type of benzene at this refinery is aimed at improving the quality of our products, as well as increasing the capacity of the country’s benzene production.” Pointing out that producing benzene from the other products of Tabriz Refinery, too, is among the unique capacities of this project, he reiterated, “For the first time in the country 750 barrels of banzan produced in this refinery is being produced side by side with the benzene here, which is the fuel for the country’s petrochemical industries.” He reiterated, “Presently the Tabriz Petro chemistry Complex provides this product from the southern refiners of Iran, while when Tabriz Refinery would produce it at larger scale, it can meet the demand of the Tabriz Petrochemical Complex.” He said that the quality improvement project of benzene at Tabriz Refinery aimed at quantity increase of the octane 95, and quality improvement of the produced benzene by observing the Euro 5 Standard, and deleting the MTBE substance from benzene at Tabriz Refinery is being implemented. The production capacity of Tabriz Refinery is 20 thousand barrels per day and now that five new containers have been added to the reserve capacity of the refinery, as well as two gas operated power generators capable of producing 50 megawatts of electricity each day, the production capacity of the refinery is increased accordingly./end
