EXIM Bank, SME Bank to help SMEs do international businesses
BANGKOK, Dec 22 (TNA) – Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM Bank) and Small and Medium Enterprise Development Bank of Thailand (SME Bank) join forces to enable small and medium-sized enterprises to reach international markets.
EXIM Bank president Pisit Serewiwattana and SME Bank president Mongkon Leelatham already signed an agreement to jointly support Thai SMEs with finance and financial knowledge to enable SMEs to export their products.
Under the agreement, EXIM Bank will lend to the SMEs that are the customers of SME Bank and want to export their products. Besides, there will be training sessions and seminars on the risks of foreign trade among other topics, for SMEs.
The collaboration responds to the government’s policy for state-run financial institutions to integrate their resources to help SMEs do international businesses with competitiveness.
The support for SMEs is expected to help Thailand raise its export value by 8% to US$253.55 billion next year.(TNA)
