FGV To Build Warehousing & Logistics Facility In Tanjung Langsat

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 17 (Bernama) -- Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (FGV) will build a warehousing and logistics facility in Tanjung Langsat, Johor to enhance the logistical capabilities for the whole group. The facility will be built on a 4.0-hectare land in port bonded area, with utilities for logistics use and direct connection to the port terminal. It is scheduled to be completed in March 2017, Group President and Chief Executive Officer, Mohd Emir Mavani Abdullah, said in a statement here Thursday. He said a new subsidiary, FGV Logistics Sdn Bhd, had been formed to manage and operate the facility in collaboration with a local warehousing company for domestic and international markets. Meanwhile, Head of Trading, Marketing and Logistics (TML) Cluster, Khairil Anuar Aziz said based on a recent market survey, warehousing requirements in southern Johor had grown significantly in the past few years. The demand comes from oil and gas sector, engineering and construction, heavy marine industries, PSA Singapore as well as commodity exchange players participating in physical deliveries. "This investment is part of TML Cluster’s continuous effort to enrich its logistics supply chain components that in the longer term translates into improved market share and income to the group," said Khairil. -- BERNAMA
