First 100 brokers graduate with Practitioner Certificate in Real Estate

Manama, Feb. 12 (BNA): Chief Executive of the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA), Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa today officiated at a graduation ceremony for the first one hundred brokers and sales agents who completed the Practitioner Certificate in Real Estate as part of the RERA Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programme. Speaking at the graduation event, Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa said ‘Having the first one hundred brokers and sales agents graduate today as part of the RERA Continuous Professional Development programme is a significant step in building a more professional, effective and efficient real estate sector. One of the key objectives of RERA is to improve transparency, increase trust and provide assurance to investors that Bahrain has a strong, regulated and sustainable real estate sector. Increased professionalism, consistent and clear policies and practices in the real estate sector will lead to greater trust. This of course will lead to increased investment activity in the market and indeed increased business for brokers and other service providers in the real estate sector’. ‘Completion of the Practitioner Certificate in Real Estate will ensure that all brokers and sales agents have a clear understanding of their role and obligations to the seller, the buyer and other key stakeholders in the market’. The RERA CEO added and reminded all brokers and sales agents who have not already registered for the RERA CPD programme to do so urgently as non-completion of the RERA training can result in RERA licenses not being renewed for brokers and sales agents. Registration is by email to realestate@bibf.com. The RERA Continuous Professional Development programme is designed to build and broaden knowledge and expertise and to ensure that real estate practitioners are kept up to date on regulatory requirements and other developments and innovations in the sector through RERA arranged seminars, workshops, online newsletters, guides and training courses. Shaikh Mohammed thanked Tamkeen for the ongoing financial support for the various professional development programmes. He also thanked BIBF who as a strategic partner played a key role in delivering the training programmes. The BIBF Director, Dr. Ahmed Abdul Hameed Al Shaikh said ‘We are pleased to partner with RERA on this very important initiative of professionalising one of the key sectors in Bahrain, namely the real estate sector. Over time the benefits of this training and development will be evident not just in the real estate sector but also in the wider economy. Brokers and sales agents must complete the Practitioner Certificate in Real Estate in year one of receiving the RERA license. Training courses are available in February to April 2019.
