First deputy prime minister: Number of entrepreneurship entities increased 4.2 times in Azerbaijan

Baku, September 7, AZERTAC “The number of entrepreneurship entities has increased 4.2 times in Azerbaijan,” said first Deputy Prime Minister Yagub Eyyubov at Azerbaijan Competitiveness Forum. “The number of legal entities grew 1.9 times, small enterprises 2 times and the number of private entrepreneurs saw a 5-fold increase.” He emphasized that the share of the private sector in the GDP grew from 74 percent in 2003 to 83 percent in 2018. “In 2017, the non-oil sector of the country registered a 2.7-percent growth. The share of the non-oil sector in employment rose from 68 percent in 2003 to 73 percent this year,” Yagub Eyyubov added.
