First fully self-service petrol station opened in Thailand

BANGKOK, March 29 (TNA) - PTT Public Company Limited (PTT), Thailand’s largest energy firm, has opened its first fully self-service petrol station in Bangkok, also the first of its kind in the country. The innovative petrol station was inaugurated on March 28 by Sarun Rungkasiri, Chairman of PTT High-End Petroleum Business Company Limited. The fully self-service petrol station offers customers a 30-satang (0.30 baht) discount per liter. Unlike semi self-service petrol stations, where customers are required to first pay at cashiers before a pump is turned on, the newly-introduced fully self-service petrol has automated pay-at-the-pump facilities; so, customers can pay cash or use their PTT Cash Card at the facilities and get the same discount, saving their time and money. PTT has operated several semi self-service petrol stations in the country, four of them in Bangkok, to help customers get used to its self-service. The company plans to open more fully self-service petrol stations in Thailand in the future. (TNA)
