Food Expo held in Thailand

NONTHABURI, June 1 (TNA) -- THAIFEX – World of Food Asia 2017 opens its door on Wednesday to international visitors as part of Thailand’s food export promotion strategy. The food exhibition features latest food producing technologies, food safety standards, related businesses and services, as well as, a most fascinating culinary experience from the world of food. Over 2,200 companies from 40 countries displays food and beverages and establishes business networks at this year’s event. Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak said in his opening speech that Thailand was the world’s fifth largest food exporters with an average of Bt800 billion in value each year. He said Thailand’s food export this year is expected to grow 8 percent, higher than previously forecast at about 5 per cent. The organizer, the Department of International Trade Promotion, expects over 150,000 visitors and over Bt10 billion of trade value generated at the THAIFEX 2017. THAIFEX – World of Food Asia will run until Sunday at Impact Exhibition and Convention Centre, Muang Thong Thani. (TNA)
