Four more Thai "smart villages" picked for MICE

BANGKOK, December 14 (TNA) - The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) has selected four more potential Thai communities to be developed as "smart villages" for holding international meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE). Sarita Chintakanond, a TCEB specialist, told journalists that the four communities selected to be further developed as modeled Thai "smart villages" include Suan Phueng Community in Ratchaburi Province, the Pak Praek Community in Kanchanaburi Province, the Doi Mae Salong Nok in Chiang Rai Province and the Wang Nam Khiao Community in Nakhon Ratchasima Province. Sarita acknowledged, like other communities in several more Thai provinces, the four selected communities have their own potential to become modeled Thai "smart villages" for MICE, apart from Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Pattaya and Phuket, including their cultural identity, as well as their unique lifestyles and community products that could be developed as value-added supplies for MICE and for more income of the local communities on the sustainable basis. Sarita said a Thai "smart village" should have four-dimensional attributes that could be integrated with innovations to become their unique attractions, namely smart culture, smart community, smart experience and smart MICE. Besides, Sarita revealed, TCEB has invited private alliances to join its development of the modeled Thai "smart villages, including Krungsri Finnovate Co., Ltd., Tipco Foods Public Company Limited, TV Thunder Public Company Limited and Advanced Info Service (AIS) Public Company Limited. According to the TCEB specialist, her organization has also been supported by 11 groups of start-up businesses to promote the four selected communities as modeled Thai "smart villages" for MICE under the Co-Creation Project, under which all relevant parties in the public and private sectors, as well as the civil society will cooperate and collaborate to creatively produce their value-added products to cater for MICE and promote them on their online marketing channels. The TCEB specialist noted that more information of her organization's Smart Villages Project is available on the [https://smartvillagecampaign.com] website. (TNA)
