Freight and passenger in figures

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ This January, 1,549.0 thousand tons of freight and 282.4 thousand passengers (at duplicated counting) were carried by railway transport. Compared to same period of the previous year, the size of freight decreased by 69.0 thousand tons or 4.3%, the number of passengers--by 27.5 thousand people or 8.9%. The revenue from the railway transport increased MNT 0.3 billion or 0.9% to MNT 30.5 billion this January against the previous year. 257.6 tons of freight and 57.1 thousand passengers (at duplicated counting) were carried by air transport. Compared to same period of the previous year, the freight size declined by 41.7 tons or 13.9%, and the number of passengers--by 2.7 thousand people or 4.5%. The revenue from the air transport went down by MNT 1.0 billion or 6.0% to MNT 16.1 billion in January 2014 against the previous year.
