Fruit imports cut by 20%
TEHRAN,Oct.21(MNA) - Imports of kinds of fruits into Iran declined by 20.5 percent in weight during the first half of the current Iranian year, which began on March 20, compared to the year before.
The imports also decreased by 16.5 percent in value year on year.
Some 340,000 tons of fruits, worth around $251 million have been imported during the 6-month period of time, according to the report.
On October 13, ISNA reported that Iran ranks the first in the Middle East and the 9th in the world with some 20 million tons of annual harvest.
