GC, Siam Piwat launch project to reduce garbage, promote recycling

BANGKOK, Sept 28 (TNA) -- PTT Global Chemical PCL (GC) and Siam Piwat Co have introduced their "Circular Living Campaign 2018" project to encourage waste sorting for recycling and sustainability. GC chief operating officer Patiparn Sukorndhaman said that under the project, there would be campaigns for the collection of plastic garbage so that they would be transformed into products with the help of creativity and innovative technologies. According to him, the project consists of numerous environmentally friendly activities from September to next February. The activities were named Power of Sharing, Sustainable Designer's Contest, Circular Living Festival, Up Cycling X'Mas Tree and Circular Living Symposium. In the first campaign - Power of Sharing, garbage bins are placed at Siam Paragon, Siam Center and Siam Discovery shopping centers to gather plastic waste. Mr Patiparn said the waste would be turned into winter jackets, carpets and pillow stuffing. The collection of plastic waste will continue until Dec 20. (TNA)
