Government is satisfied with international investment ranking

BANGKOK, March 12 (TNA) -- The government spokesman Lt Gen Sansern Kaewkamnerd said that Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha was delighted that Thailand has been ranked the 8th Best Country in to Invest in 2018 by US News. The spokesman stated that Gen Prayut has been informed of the news and expressed his pleasure that Thailand had been ranked 8 out of 20 countries with the best potential for investment. The ranking system takes into consideration, among other things, factors such as economic stability, innovation, labor skills, technological expertise, environment, population and corruption. Lt Gen Sansern said that the PM felt that the ranking was very good news as it indicates increased foreign investor confidence in the national economy. Gen Prayut said this success was entirely due to the efforts of all Thais from the government down to the private sector and the general public. Lt Gen Sansern also revealed that the PM was extremely satisfied that earlier this year US News also ranked Thailand, for the second year running, the No 1 Best Countries to Start a Business. This reflects well for future foreign investment in the country as it will ensure that Thailand maintains it leading position among investors. (TNA)
