Govt to distribute wealth to regions: DPM

BANGKOK, May 24 (TNA) - Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak reiterated to press ahead the policy to distribute wealth to the regions. Deputy Prime Minister Somkid said Thai economy grew 4.8 per cent in the first quarter of this year. The country’s GDP has increased by two trillion baht to 15.4 trillion baht at the end of 2017 from 13.2 trillion baht in 2014. Thai stock index moved up from 1,400 points to 1,700 points. He added that the Pracharat (Public –Private Collaborative) projects will be the drive force to distribute wealth to grassroots communities. Groups of people, who have different political ideologies, must join hand to take part in the country’s reform. Somkid said Google executives met him to discuss the establishment of Google Thailand team to develop technology and train start-ups and entrepreneurs about e-commerce market. (TNA)
