Gulf Warehousing Company Recognized as One of Top Business Leaders
Doha, March 17 (QNA) - Gulf Warehousing Company Qatars leading logistics provider, was recognized as one of the top business leaders in the State of Qatar during Oryx Publishing launch ceremony of the 14th edition of Progress Qatar 2017-18, held in the Hilton Hotel Doha on March 14, 2018.
The "Progress Qatar" is an annual publication that sheds light on top companies and authorities highlighting the progress of their operations in Qatar. GWC is among the top listed companies in Qatar, and the company's achievements in developing the nation's leading logistics infrastructure and providing fully-integrated supply chain solutions was highlighted at the event. During the ceremony, Director of Public Relations Abdulaziz Mohammed Al Sahlawi received an award on behalf of the company from Faleh bin Hussein Al Hajeri Director of Research and Cultural Studies at the Ministry of Culture and Sports, on behalf of H.E. Salah bin Ghanem bin Nasser Al Ali Minister of Culture and Sports, and Chairman of Oryx Publishing and Advertising Yousif bin Jassim Al Darwish.
"The State of Qatar has succeeded, thanks to God, thanks to its wise leadership, which invested in the nation's capabilities and potentials, thanks to the leaderships future plans and strategies, which prioritize self-sufficiency and enhancing national capabilities and industries and thanks to the steadfastness of the national mega development projects." Al Darwish said.
"The Year 2017 validated GWC as a bona fide national asset when it harnessed its varied strengths in a seamless effective manner when our country needed it most," stated GWC Chairman Sheikh Abdullah bin Fahad bin Jassem bin Jabor Al Thani. "It is with this strong, positive tailwind that GWC looks to the future grateful for the trust placed in us, emboldened by national pride and the strong partnerships we have, and spurred on by that wonderful spirit of solidarity."
GWC has also been successful within the country's various business sectors and industries, among them food retail, FMCG, and Oil & Gas. The Company fulfilled its civic duty by being of instrumental service to its clients during the food management crisis, entering into a number of emergency contracts with them with our Contract Logistics, Forwarding, and Transport departments providing innovative solutions to handle the hundreds of incoming charter flights through the rest of the year.

The company concluded 2017 with an increase of 4.7 percent in net profits with QR 215.5 million, as compared with QR 205.7 million in 2016. The company also drew in gross revenues of QR 966.9 million at the end of 2017, representing 13.8 percent increase from QR 849.5 million in 2016. The company's assets continued to develop, with total assets reaching QR 3.774 billion by the end of December 2017, compared with QR 3.741 billion at the end of December 2016. Additionally, earnings per share rose to QR 3.68 at the end of 2017, and increase from QR 3.54 at the end of 2016 at a rate of 3.9 percent. (QNA)
