Happyfresh To Open Office In Philippines

KUALA LUMPUR, March 3 (Bernama) -- Online grocery company, HappyFresh, will open an office in the Philippines. In a statement Thursday, the company said the office was scheduled to be operational in the second quarter of 2016. "The new office is the fifth in Asia after Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Taiwan. "The Philippines is an exciting market as the people's wealth is expanding and consumer spending growth will accelerate through to 2030," it said. HappyFresh Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder, Markus Bihler, said the Philippines, with a population of over 96 million and a a projected gross domestic product growth rate of six to seven per cent over the next few years, would help the company achieve its long-term regional development. HappyFresh, founded in 2014, is an online shopping selling fresh produce, meat, seafood, vegetables and fruits. -- BERNAMA
