Hitachi, Mitsubishi invited to invest in Thailand's EEC

BANGKOK, November 29 (TNA) - Two Japanese high-technological business giants, Hitachi, Ltd. and Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, have been invited to expand their investment plans into the Thai government-supported Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) Project. Dr. Nattapon Nimmanpatcharin, Director of Thailand's Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA), under the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, told journalists on November 28 that he extended the invitation while leading a team of DEPA executives and staff members to meet representatives of Hitachi and Mitsubishi Electric in Tokyo during his trip to Japan from November 22 to 27. "During my recent visit to Japan, I met and briefed representatives of Hitachi and Mitsubishi Electric on the DEPA's roles and development plans under the Thai government's EEC Project, including the establishment of the Digital Park Thailand in the eastern seaside Chon Buri Province", said the DEPA director. The DEPA director revealed that he took the separate opportunities to also invite the two Japanese high-technological business giants to invest in Thailand's EEC, together with other foreign direct investment (FDI) projects.
