Honda Malaysia Expects To Sell 500 Units Monthly Of Latest Accord Model

SHAH ALAM (Selangor, Malaysia), Sept 7 (Bernama) -- Honda Malaysia expects to sell 500 units monthly of its latest Accord model launched Wednesday.
Honda Malaysia Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Katsuto Hayashi said the latest Accord offers a new level of expectation in the premium executive sedan class.
"Our sedan series line-up of City, Civic and Accord in Malaysia is now complete," he added.
The new model is available in three variants of the 2.0VTi, 2.0VTi-L and 2.4VTi-L, with an on-the-road price starting from US$35,590 (RM144,800) to US$42,472 (RM172,800).
"With a sales target of 500 units monthly, the Accord is expected to support Honda's overall sales target of 90,000 units this year," he told reporters after the launch here Wednesday.
Katsuto said the Accord has been redesigned to offer a sophisticated and masculine exterior with a new front bumper design, stylish LED headlights for both front and rear plus two-tone black and silver rims.
"The 2.4 VTi-L variant, priced US$1,228 (RM5,000) lower than its predecessor, is powered by Honda's revolutionary Earth Dreams Technology engine for exhilarated drive and better fuel efficiency.
"This Accord will be the first Honda model to come in the Obsidian Blue Pearl colour. It will also be fitted with a seven-inch Touchscreen Advanced Display Audio unit with i-MID, that is Apple CarPlay compatible and Android Auto ready," he said.
Meanwhile, Katsuto said Honda's internal data showed the Total Industry Volume from January to August 2016 fell about 15 per cent compared with the same period last year.
"With total sales from January to August at 55,751 units, we maintained our number one position in the non-national segment," he added. (photoBERNAMA)
