Hungary Eyes Business Opportunities In Kedah, Says Envoy

ALOR SETAR (Kedah, Malaysia) Jan 16 (Bernama) – Hungary is eyeing business opportunities in few main areas for its future investments in Kedah as it boosts bilateral economic relations with Malaysia. Its Ambassador to Malaysia, Attila Kali, said the key areas were agriculture, water management, motor vehicle and healthcare. "I think the most important would be agriculture sector and water management. At the same time we also see potentials for cooperation in research and development in the motor vehicle industry (such as) electric vehicle because Hungary is strong in this sector. "Healthcare industry is another area we see the potential for cooperation. A Hungarian company is interested in a medical project. The company would like to bring its expertise to Malaysia,” he said. Kali said this to reporters after attending a briefing on Kedah and Hungary Business Forum at Invest Kedah Office here Monday. Attila is here on a two-day official visit to explore business opportunities between Kedah and Hungary. Also present was the embassy’s economic affairs office head Dr Emilia Fabian. Attila said Kedah has big investment potentials and he would recommend Hungarian business decision-makers to consider the state as potential investment destination.
