IBM Appoints New Managing Director For Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, April 1 (Bernama) -- IBM has appointed Catherine Lian as managing director of IBM Malaysia, effective today. In a statement Monday, it said Lian brought with her 20 years of experience in information technology (IT) as she was from Dell Technologies, where she held various management roles across ASEAN and South Asian markets, including Malaysia, South Korea and Pakistan. An economics graduate of Universiti Utara Malaysia, she is a strong advocate for women in leadership, having mentored young professionals, and was part of the Women’s Entrepreneur Network in her previous role. Lian will be responsible for the business growth and leadership of IBM in Malaysia, building on the strong collaboration with clients, partners, the government and communities, to advance digital transformation and inclusive progress, using AI, Cloud, Blockchain and other emerging technologies. -- BERNAMA
