IEA Executive Director: Azerbaijan plays an important role in ensuring Europe`s energy security

Baku, September 13, AZERTAC Azerbaijan plays an important role in ensuring Europe`s energy security, diversifying sources and routes, the Executive Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA), Fatih Birol, has told journalists. He noted that the European Union has made important decisions concerning its energy security over the past years. “The main issue here is diversification of sources and routes for natural gas. I think TANAP and TAP projects implemented by Azerbaijan are of great importance, and the TANAP pipeline has already been put into operation. I believe that the work on TAP will be implemented on time," Birol added.
