Indian delegation visited GPIC

Manama, Dec. 26 (BNA): A youth delegation from India Republic has visited the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC). The visit, as part of its commitment to the exchange of cultures and the transfer of experiences, came at the invitation of Bahrain’s Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs and to activate a memorandum of understanding between the two countries. The guests were received by GPIC’s Youth Committee Chairman Mohammed Al Masqati and other officials, who briefed them on the company's business mission, strategy and operations. Al Masqati gave a presentation on the company’s activities and its projects, as well as an introduction about the Youth Committee and its role. Discussions between the two sides focused on a Q & A session. Later, the visitors toured the company premises, during which they visited the plants and the several environmental projects. They learnt about the attention the company gives to the environment as well as its social and educational activities. They expressed their happiness at GPIC’s activities and programmes outside the scope of industrial work as part of its social responsibility towards the local community. They said they would convey what they saw of Bahrain’s rapid development to their colleagues and fellow students. They added they would also seek to identify with Bahrain’s enormous potential in the industrial sector. GPIC President Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery in a statement said that the company was pleased to host the youth delegation and stressed the visit was an opportunity to inform its members about Bahrain and its industrial sector. He said such visits allow the company to share with them the high level of industrial companies in Bahrain, its modern facilities and its qualified national forces. Dr. Jawahery said the initiative also seeks to strengthen cooperation with youth groups from both countries and inform the guests about the Bahraini capabilities, knowledge, education and efficiency. He stressed the importance of exchanging experiences and knowledge among the future generations. He also thanked the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs for its active role in the continuous communication between the two countries and peoples to get to know each other better. The delegation expressed its’ admiration for the progress made by Bahrain’s industry and thanked her hosts on behalf of the delegation for the welcome and the hospitality.
