Inhealth Posts 32.2 Percent Increase In Q1 Premium
Jakarta, April 23 (Antara) - PT Asuransi Jiwa InHealth Indonesia (InHealth) reported Rp415.1 billion in gross premium income in the first quarter of 2013 or an increase of 32.3 percent on-year.
Most of the premium was contributed by "managed car based health" insurance, Pudjianto, the finance director of the life insurance company, said here on Tuesday.
Pudjianto said income in investment reached Rp34.74 billion in the first three months of the year or an increase of 52.08 percent on-year.
Profit recorded by the company rose 20.44 percent to Rp37.68 billion in the January-March period this year from Rp25.68 billion in the same period last year.
Pudjianto said the management of the company still relies more on non individual insurance service.
By the end of 2012, the company issued 1,700 policies covering 1.17 million insured lives.
"The policies are few in number but cover many lives as we serve no individual policy,"Pudjianto said.
Among the InHealth policyholders are private companies and state companies, he added.
Marketing director of InHealth Muhammad Taufik said until 2016, the company will continue to focus on non individual policy holders.
Taufik said the company will also offer credit life insurance for financing firms and banks this year.
The company sets premium income target at Rp1.6 trillion and will continue to rely on managed care-based health insurance.
