Int'l investors welcome to Thailand

BANGKOK, March 23 (TNA) - Thailand always welcomes international investors through a clear policy on providing them with facilitations for running their businesses in the Thai Kingdom. Kulanee Isadisai, Director-General of the Department of Business Development, under the Thai Ministry of Commerce, told journalists on Friday that her ministry has also maintained the Thai government's policy by reducing bureaucratic procedures for foreign firms seeking approvals for running their businesses in Thailand and supporting them to form economic partnership with their Thai counterparts for mutual benefits. In response to concerns over the amendment of a law on foreign businesses in Thailand, Kulanee explained that a bill on business facilitations requires an annual review of the law to keep pace with the changing situation, with such factors as its short and long term impacts, strength and weakness and others taken into consideration for this year's legal review. The senior official affirmed that existing foreign businesses in Thailand will not be negatively affected by the annual legal review, under which opinions of all stake holders and a balance between investment promotional measures and the protection of Thai businesses are also taken into account. Besides, relaxing regulations are imposed, rather than strict control, along with observing international business obligations and seriously tracking down illegal nominees to uphold good governance in the Thai business sector and to create confidence in the Thai economy with good image on the world community.
