Int'l rubber trade fair organised in Bangkok
BANGKOK, March 10 (TNA) - The Thai public and private sectors jointly organise an international rubber trade fair in Bangkok during March 9-11, 2016, expected to attract
over 7,000 visitors from some 50 countries worldwide.
The 3rd Global Rubber Latex and Tire Expo 2016, jointly organised by the Ministry of Industry, the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) and the Rubber-Based Industry Club of the Federation of Thai Industry (FTI), is held at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC) in Bang Na area, in which over 250 rubber firms participate to display their products, covering rubber latex and tires.
IEAT Governor Veerapong Chaiperm told journalists that IEAT, in cooperation with Prince of Songkhla University (PSU), has launched a basic rubber infrastructure development project, called the "Rubber City", in Songkhla Province in the Thai Far South since December 2015, in which local rubber business operators can join forces and develop to become a rubber cluster to boost local rubber prices and support local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) on rubber innovative products.
According to the IEAT governor, a memorandum of understading (MOU) will be soon signed between IEAT and PSU for the agreed cooperation and a model factory will launch its test-run over the next 12 months to transfer knowledge on best efficient solutions to rubber problems to local SMEs. (TNA)
