IoT, AI To Change Asean Lives, Lifestyles

KUALA LUMPUR, April 2 (Bernama) -- The Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence (AI) are going to be the next technology to change ASEAN lives, lifestyles and purchasing behaviour, according to the Hakuhodo Institute of Life and Living ASEAN’s (HILL ASEAN) research findings. Hakuhodo Malaysia Sdn Bhd chief marketing officer/chief operating officer Kota Takaichi said technology behavioural changes, which include “Bye-Bye boring routines” and “Match-Me journey”, will emerge in ASEAN. He said “Bye-Bye boring routines” are breaking free from actions unconsciously repeated daily that take time but need to be done through IoT and AI technology, while ‘Match-Me journey’ is a purchasing process optimised for each individual. Takaichi was speaking to reporters at the “Think Future-Forward: How ASEAN Lives Evolve As Technology Gets Smarter” Forum, here Tuesday. According to the findings in six ASEAN countries, people in ASEAN love technology but feel information fatigue, with about 70 per cent accept AI as beneficial and user’s intention of using the IoT is high, but ownership still lags. Founded in 1895, Japan’s Hakuhodo is the world’s sixth largest advertising agency, while HILL ASEAN supports clients’ marketing activities in ASEAN through insights into and proposals for ASEAN “sei-katsu-sha”. The term “sei-katsu-sha”, which was introduced by Hakuhodo in 1980s, means more than simply consumers, just as people’s lives and lifestyles include more than just shopping. -- BERNAMA
