Iranˈs Oil Exporting Fleet Includes 37 Giant Tankers

Tehran, Jan 25, IRNA – A senior official at the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) said Saturday that 37 giant tankers are working in the countryˈs oil exporting fleet. Director of NIOCˈs International Affairs Department Mohsen Qamsari said the total number of tankers carrying Iranˈs exported crude oil stood at 60 oil tankers all belonging to Iran. Referring to some recent reports on extension of the insurance coverage for the Iranian oil tankers by India, Qamsari said there was no problem in that regard. He added that the latest reports about insurance of Iranian oil cargo by India were ˈnothing but propaganda fuss.ˈ Under no sanction conditions, Iranian oil tankers sail in the territorial waters of 50 countries, said the official, noting that Tehran has decided to increase the capacity of its oil tankers to one billion barrels.
