Iran’s eight-month exports to Iraq hit $4.3 billion

Tehran, IRNA – Head of Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) Alireza Peimanpak said on Tuesday that Iran has exported some $4.3 billion worth of goods to Iraq in the first eight months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21 – November 22). The figure shows a 4% rise in comparison to Iran’s $4.13 billion of exports to Iraq in the corresponding period of the preceding year. Peimanpak said that Iran’s exports to Iraq including gas exports stood at $4.66 billion in the eight-month period. The official noted that Iran’s gas exports to Iraq in the mentioned period has declined by $1.6 billion year-on-year. Out of Iran’s top 100 export items to Iraq, 70 ones have registered growth in exports with the rest 30 ones declining, he said. Referring to the restrictions caused by the arbitrary sanctions for Iran’s foreign trade, the official said that the Trade Promotion Organization has different plans to expand the country’s exports to Iraq and maintain this market.
