Iran, China To Cooperate In Deep Seas Fish Plantation
Beijing, June 14, IRNA – Managers of East China Sea Fisheries and Research Institute and some Iranian fishery institutes reached agreements here Friday for China’s technical assistance on deep sea fish cultivation in Iran using cages.
Managers of a number of Iranian fishery institutes reached the agreements after visiting the research facilities of the Chinese institute in the Yellow Sea.
The Iranian and Chinese fishery managers exchanged ideas and information on facilities, equipment, and modern technology for fish plantation in deep sea waters in their meeting after the visit.
The fish Plantation Manager of the East China Sea Fisheries and Research Institute Geon Jang Tao elaborated on the process of the research work and the newest achieved results of it at that institute for the Iranian state and private sector fishery managers.
The two sides in the meeting reached initial agreement on the Iranian fishery firms’ taking advantage of the Chinese technology in fish plantation in cages in deep waters.
The Managing Director of the Iranian Fisheries Organization (Shilat) Hassan Salehi had earlier in late May, 2014, said that taking advantage of the Chinese experience in fish plantation in cages is in the agenda of the two countries’ cooperation.
Also, Chinese deputy agriculture minister who visited Iran last month discussed ways for expansion of bilateral cooperation in both agricultural and fishery fields with Iran in a meeting with the Iranian Agricultural Jihad Minister Mahmoud Hojjati.
On May 12, Visiting Chinese Deputy Agriculture Minister NIU Dun conferred with Minister of Agriculture Jihad Mahmoud Hojjati on ways to expand agricultural cooperation between the two countries.
The new Iranian government is to expand all-out cooperation with China mainly in agricultural sector, said Hojjati.
He expressed the hope that the visit would open a new chapter to broaden cooperation in various agricultural sectors such as fisheries, plantation of botanical products, research and forestry./end
