Iran exports $120m knowledge-based products

Tehran, Nov 8, IRNA - Minister of Science, Research and Technology Mohammad Farhadi has said $120m worth knowledge-based products were exported in the previous Iranian calendar year of 1394 (ended on March 19, 2016). Iran exports $120m knowledge-based products Speaking in the 15th International Congress of Iranian Society of Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery, Farhadi said about 3,000 concepts were turned out to products last year. He reiterated that no society in the world is able to gain progress in the absence of dynamic higher education system. He added that top technologies for diagnosis and treatment of diseases are highly adopted, especially in the otolaryngology field in Iran. Farhadi noted that over 2,500,000 scientific articles were published by Iranian experts and scientists in Information Sciences Institute (ISI) in 2015 and some 225 Iranian articles were announced as the top one percent articles in 2015. He referred to Iranian universities ranking in the world, saying that in accordance with 2015 Times Higher Education World University Rankings, 22 Iranian universities are among top prestigious universities in the world. Regarding innovation, Iran ranked 113 in the world and it reached 78 this year, He added. The 15th International Congress of Iranian Society of Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery is underway in Tehran from November 8-11. 1378/IRNA
