Iran exports 2.6m tons of fuel over 2.5 years
TEHRAN,Aug.25(MNA) - Iran has exported some 2.64 million tons of fuel, including jet fuel, gasoline, diesel oil, kerosene, and liquefied gas, since March 2010.
With inaugurating new development plans in domestic refineries, Iran has managed to diversify its basket of oil products, so that the country is currently exporting jet fuel, gasoline, diesel oil, and kerosene, according to the report.
Some 900,000 tons of diesel oil, 8,100 tons of liquefied gas, 177,000 tons of gasoline, 767 tons of jet fuel, and 125,000 tons of kerosene have been exported since March 2010.
The managing director of the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company stated Iran exported some 43 million liters of oil products, including kerosene, jet fuel, diesel oil and gasoline, in the past calendar year, which ended on March 19.
Jalil Salari added that the country earned nearly $10 billion through exporting oil products.
Deputy Oil Minister Alireza Zeighami has said that a package of investment, worth $47.5 billion, has been prepared to develop different sectors of the oil refining and distribution industry.
He also said that the national oil pipeline network will be expanded to 5100 kilometers from 3700 kilometers by 2015.
Some $2 billion should be invested by 2015 to boost the storage capacity of oil products, the official noted.
