Iran urges foreign companies to ink deals for developing six oilfields

TEHRAN,Oct.1(MNA) - The Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) urged the foreign companies for finalizing negotiations and signing contracts to develop six offshore oilfields. The deals are related to six major oilfields in Persian Gulf including Farzad A & B, Soroush, Esfandyar, Tossan, and Alfa fields, IOOC told in an email statement to Tehran Times on Sunday. The IOOC also informed that the deals would be signed as soon as possible and on the basis of priority of the earlier concluded timeline, sending a signal to foreign companies that they might miss out on potentially lucrative contracts with one of the world’s biggest energy exporters if they hesitate more on the negotiations. Iran sits on the world’s second largest oil and gas reserves.
