Liquidity has quadrupled during Ahmadinejad administration: Iranian MP

TEHRAN, Sept. 23 (MNA) – A lawmaker sitting on the Majlis Budget and Planning Committee said on Sunday that liquidity has increased by four times since Mahmoud Ahmadinejad took over as president in 2005. For example, Elyas Naderan said just during the last Iranian calendar year, which ended March 19, 2012, liquidity increased 25 percent. Addressing the parliament, Naderan said there are rumors that the administration plans to increase cash subsidy through an increase in foreign currency prices, warning if it happens the liquidity will increase more and a new price shock happens. Naderan, a trained economist, warned a distribution of cash subsidy from increase of foreign currency prices will be “treason” to the country.
