Malaysia Airlines Signs FHS Support Agreement With Airbus

KUALA LUMPUR, June 22 (Bernama) -- Aircraft maker, Airbus, has partnered with Malaysia Airlines Bhd (MAB) to provide Flight Hour Services (FHS) components support for the airline's new fleet of six A350 XWB aircraft, as well as its existing fleet of 18 A330 aircraft. The agreements were signed during the Paris Air Show on Wednesday by MAB Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Peter Bellew and Airbus Executive Vice-President Head of Programmes, Didier Evrard. In a joint statement Wednesday, the companies said the long-term agreements included guaranteed spare parts availability for an extensive scope of A350 XWB and A330 Line Replaceable Units, plus maintenance and logistics services at MAB's main base and selected outstations. “The FHS agreement with MAB will further build the “Services by Airbus” presence in Malaysia, which includes an extensive maintenance and overhaul facility (Sepang Aircraft Engineering) and a customer services subsidiary, offering specialist engineering design and modification work at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport,” it said. -- BERNAMA
