Malaysian Companies Urged To Further Tap Into Turkish Market
KUALA LUMPUR, July 27 (Bernama) -- The ASEAN Chamber of Commerce has urged Malaysian companies to penetrate into the Turkish market as it is a good opportunity to increase trade cooperation between both countries.
President Moehamad Izat Emir said Turkey currently requires foreign investors to invest in the country sue to the long-running dispute between Turkey and the United States over the purchase of Russian weapons.
Hence, the Malaysian as well as ASEAN economy were also indirectly affected by this long dispute, he added.
"I urge all members, Malaysian and ASEAN merchants, especially those in the defence industry to invest in Turkey. Malaysia has a group of excellent entrepreneurs in this sector that will help us to increase trade cooperation between ASEAN and Turkey," he said in a statement.
Apart from that, Turkey is the most developed country that has a self-support system in the halal industry.
“Malaysia should learn from the best and enhanced the halal industry which includes halal food and drink, Muslim fashion and others,” he added.
