Malaysia's DHU, UMass Dartmouth Forge Cooperation In Automotive Research Development
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 10 (Bernama) -- DRB-HICOM University of Automotive Malaysia (DHU) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with University of Massachusetts (UMass) Dartmouth on collaborative efforts in developing degree programmes, student and staff exchanges, and research projects.
DRB-HICOM Bhd, in a statement, said the cooperation involved developing twinning programmes at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including providing access to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, and awarding of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.
The MoU allows both universities to carry out strategic collaboration, comprising research projects, research sharing, comparative analysis and data sharing.
DRB-HICOM said it would also enable the research to be capitalised by policy makers and researchers, as well as cited by publications and other forms of knowledge dissemination.
In addition, the MoU gives DHU and UMass Dartmouth the opportunity to organise and sponsor joint conferences focusing on nation building and development.
The tie-up paves the way for DHU to be internationally recognised as Malaysia's leading automotive study centre, DRB-HICOM group managing director Syed Faisal Albar said.
He said the cooperation could create robust automotive business infrastructure and generate investment in the automotive industry.
Located in North Dartmouth, Massachusetts, UMass Dartmouth is one of five campuses and operating subdivisions of UMass.
