Maybank IB to Issue 15 New Call Warrants

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 27 (Bernama) -- Maybank Investment Bank Bhd (Maybank IB) will be issuing 15 new European-style cash-settled call warrants with an issue size of US$24.14 million (RM100 million) each on Friday. In a statement Thursday, it said the call warrants would be issued over ordinary shares of Bumi Armada Bhd, Cahya Mata Sarawak Bhd, Dialog Group Bhd, Hengyuan Refining Company Bhd, Hibiscus Petroleum Bhd, Malakoff Corporation Bhd and My E.G. Services Bhd. “The other companies are Petron Malaysia Refining & Marketing Bhd, Pos Malaysia Bhd, Press Metal Aluminium Holdings Bhd, Sunway Construction Group Bhd, Telekom Malaysia Bhd, UEM Sunrise Bhd, Velesto Energy Bhd and Vitrox Corporation Bhd. “This tranche of call warrants is primarily focused on the oil and gas (O&G) sector, with a selection of underlying shares from across the entire O&G value chain,” the investment bank said. Maybank IB said crude oil prices have performed strongly, appreciating almost 40 per cent since the start of the year, adding that it remained positive on the sector and expected current levels of crude oil to bode well for capital expenditure which has been on the rise. “Nevertheless, volatility is likely to remain heightened against the backdrop of the trade war and geopolitical concerns,” it added. -- BERNAMA
