Maybank Wins World's Brand Of The Year Award For Third Year Running
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 29 (Bernama) -- Maybank lifted the Brand of the Year award for the third consecutive year at the 2016 World Branding Awards at Kensington Palace in London last Saturday.
Maybank was the only brand accorded the recognition under the banking category for Malaysia.
Group Chief Strategy Officer Michael Foong said the award was indeed a global recognition of the strong brand equity that Maybank enjoyed amongst its stakeholders.
"Winning the award for the third consecutive year reaffirms the consistency of the brand experience that we endeavour to provide across our entire network, guided by our unique mission of humanising financial services.
"Operating in a digital age now gives us even greater opportunities to ensure our brand reaches customers across the globe in a more effective manner and we will make every effort to strengthen the brand experience continuously," he said in a statement Wednesday.
The Maybank brand has been valued at US$2.05 billion by the Brand Finance Global 500 League Table Report 2016.
World Branding Forum Chairman Richard Rowles said the awards were a celebration of the hard work that went into building great brands.
“As over 70 per cent of the voting is by consumers, winners of the awards clearly have built a strong brand loyalty among their customers and fans.
"The awards are also a testament to the people behind the scenes in building and maintaining brands," he said.
The World Branding Awards is organised by the World Branding Forum, a global non-profit organisation, dedicated to advancing branding standards for the good of the branding community and consumers.
It organises and sponsors a range of educational programmes such as collaborations with leading universities and museums.
