MCOT to be model for energy saving
MCOT, July 1 – MCOT Plc in collaboration with PEA ENCOM International Co is researching on energy saving at its office buildings and broadcasting stations in order to become a model for energy saving.
After the signing of an agreement between both parties, MCOT president Kematat Paladesh said MCOT produced and broadcasted TV and radio programs nationwide around the clock and the collaboration was a major step to reduce electricity consumption.
He expected the project to turn MCOT into a model media organization on energy saving and enable it to use renewable energy to cut its costs.
Punlop Pinyowiwat, acting managing director of PEA ENCOM International, said his company was a leading organization on electricity and energy saving in Southeast Asia and the partnership would benefit MCOT and other media organizations in the long run.
The joint efforts began last year and MCOT replaced fluorescent lamps with LED lamps at its main office building and consequently halved its power consumption for lighting.
Besides, it installed solar panels to power its digital TV broadcasting station in Si Sa Ket province. (TNA)
