Mercedes-Benz Indonesia Invest 30 Million Euro

Bogor, West Java, Nov 21 (ANTARA) - PT Mercedes-Benz Indonesia President and CEO Claus Weidner said the company has invested 30 million euro in Indonesia from 2010 to 2012. "For the past three years from 2010 to 2012 our investment value reached 20 to 30 million euro," he said after attending a "M Class Start Off Production" ceremony here on Wednesday. He said the investment was not only for increasing production but also for infrastructure and others. He said the investment was also not focused on M Class production but also on other types such as C Class, E Class and S Class. Weidner said investment would develop well with support from the government. He said earlier that the assembling of M-Class series in Indonesia was a sign of good domestic investment climate for the company`s business growth. "Local assembling of ML 350 proves Indonesia is a potential market for Mercedes-Benz," he said. He said the development of local automotive industry benefits both the investor and the country. The deputy for investment service of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Ahmad Kurniadi, said PT Mercedes-Benz Indonesia business expansion could encourage other automotive companies to invest in Indonesia. "Indonesia will be the investment destination of especially automotive companies," he said. He said several companies from Europe as well as Asia such as Japan and South Korea have been ready to expand their business in the country.
